Today I logged the 21st location in my quest to explore 100 unusual places in LA: Hollywood Forever Cemetery. I was prepared for the lush landscaping and the famous graves, but there were some discoveries I didn't expect.
Yes, there are peacocks and peahens that roam the graveyard. I was visiting for a story I'm working on, but between the peacocks and the nearby colony of feral cats, I was pretty distracted.

The cemetery was enchanting, especially in the golden light of the setting sun. I'll probably be going back here soon; I left plenty of areas unexplored.
