To tell the truth, I didn’t look for him.
Tues. Feb 25, 1941
Dear Diary,
We sung for the Mason’s tonight. Dorothy Hamilton stayed with me. We had to wear formals. Several told me how nice my dress and hair looked. It (the hair) just hangs in long waves and curls only once on the end. It just plain flies. Lucile looked so nice in blue tonight. She told me that she’d seen Leigh on the street, and they were going to the show afterward. I said, “Well good.” She was surprised. I told her I really had seen Leigh, that we were going bowling afterward - and I was going to leave my formal on. She believed me until I said bowling. To tell the truth, I didn’t look for him. (That has a double meaning.)
Me.
